Bill McKibben is a prominent American environmentalist, author, and journalist who has written extensively on the impact of global warming.
Bill McKibben is the Schumann Distinguished Scholar at Middlebury College and the founder of the climate campaign group Third Act, which organizes people over sixty for progressive change. He has been at Middlebury College for a quarter of a century and also writes for The New Yorker. He is known for his work in environmental activism, including founding the first global grassroots climate campaign, 350.org, which has been instrumental in raising awareness of climate change and advocating for action to combat it. He has published more than twenty books, including his first, The End of Nature, in 1989, and his most recent book, The Flag, the Cross, and the Station Wagon: A Graying American Looks Back at His Suburban Boyhood and Wonders What the Hell Happened. He has received numerous awards and honors for his work, including the Right Livelihood Prize, sometimes referred to as the 'alternative Nobel Prize", and the Gandhi Peace Award.
