Jim Whitehurst started his career as Vice President and Director of the Boston Consulting Group and held various management roles at its Chicago, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Atlanta offices. He later worked as Chief Operating Officer at Delta Air Lines and then as CEO at Red Hat. At Red Hat, he grew the company's revenue from $500 million to $3 billion and led the company through its acquisition by IBM. He then served as President at IBM until July 2021. He is also the author of the book "The Open Organization: Igniting Passion and Performance" which inspired the Open Organization movement.
